Substance over spin

Customers often ask, what is your secret sauce? Why are you trusted by so many leading businesses across Australia?

There is no secret sauce. The answer is much simpler; we are predominantly focused on solving business problems.

We’re a substance-first business. We’re not here to sell technology for the sake of selling technology.

We know how frustrating it is for clients to sit through a polished sales pitch and realise there’s no true capability behind it. That’s a waste of everyone’s time and we’re not that type of business.

We’re a team that delivers mission-critical work without fuss.

Our group of highly skilled people are dependable, quietly brilliant and use technology to solve critical business problems.

We’ll continue to do that nationwide, aligned to our core principles:

  • We hire the best-in-class technical talent

  • We are trusted to deliver high-stakes work

  • We do what we say we’ll do

Take our team in Brisbane as an example; our engineers are some of the best in the state and are inundated with work serving returning customers and referrals.

Clients simply come back which is the best measure of trust you can have as a business.

Network engineering at the core

Network engineering is at the centre of everything we do and we’ll keep building strategically around that capability.

This isn’t glamorous, nor does it feature on glossy brochures but it’s critical to the running of an organisation. Security, cloud, devices, applications and software all ride on the stability and performance of the network.

In that respect, our recent acquisition of C5 Technology in Brisbane has been a major positive and contributor to our growth story.

One example is our work in aged care. We recently replaced the networking infrastructure across 55 sites for an organisation to ensure that:

  • Fall-detection systems in rooms actually work

  • Medication management systems stay online and accurate

  • Clinical applications and records are available when staff need them

This is truly critical infrastructure; the business can’t run safely or compliantly if the network fails. There’s always work to be done in this space, demand is constant and ongoing.

On top of that, we’re building recurring annuity through managed services. This involves proactively maintaining, monitoring and resolving issues in between the big refresh cycles.

Beyond this, we are also building additional firepower in the coming months by building:

  • Technical capabilities across East Coast and West Coast

  • Cyber security offerings on the East Coast

  • Network engineering expertise on the West Coast

One team, one national practice

As a premium end-to-end technology provider, OneStep Group serves customers across Australia. We’re showing up to solve a defined set of problems for customers irrespective of location.

In Queensland, we’re delivering mission-critical network engineering work that underpins hospitals, aged care facilities, utilities and large building projects. Our expertise is in heavy demand.

We have a similar story in Victoria. We’re winning larger and more complex projects due to our deep levels of specialisation across the entire technology suite.

In Western Australia, we’re seeing increased demand for cyber security and enterprise networking capabilities. We’re strengthening our team to meet such demand and continue our engagement with enterprise customers.

Our strength lies in leveraging our unified national practice across a range of industry sectors.

The approach is the same; customers can’t afford for things not to work and they trust us to keep core systems secure, connected and compliant.

Delivering market value, accelerating business growth

As we look ahead, we know that ‘good’ isn’t about a single year of numbers or projects.

Success at OneStep Group is defined by a long-term business that is:

  1. Financially strong: We have a healthy flow of high-value proposals where we win the majority.

  2. Disciplined and repeatable: We are consistent and dependable in our execution of projects.

  3. Sustainable from a talent and culture perspective: We have a healthy balance of senior leaders supported by strong mid-level and emerging talent, underpinned by best-in-class training and mentoring to ensure business-wide knowledge sharing.

What excites me most is that our brand is becoming better known in the market for solving complex business problems.

We receive a lot of work through word of mouth and clients asking us back into their organisation to solve the next business problem.

We’ll continue to do that from coast to coast in Australia.
